Lawanda Dian (Murphy) Stockton was welcomed to her heavenly home on October 28, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at the age of 82. She was born to Lester Murphy and Edith (Sheets) Murphy on August 18, 1942 and spoiled by her grandpa, Ott Sheets. She met the love of her life, Kenneth Stockton, in Memphis, and they were married in 1962 and later moved to Trumann in 1978. They enjoyed 53 years together. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Trumann where she taught the children’s classes for 35 years and soon became Mrs. Little Wanda by the little ones who loved her. She loved to do hand work and crafts especially knitting and crocheting and was always open to teaching others. Her work was beautiful, and she loved sharing it with others, especially at Christmas. You knew you were special if you got a scrubby, dishrag, and potholder for a gift. She loved to travel and trips to Branson were her favorite. She truly lived up to her nickname, “Princess.”
She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Kenneth Stockton, and three grandchildren: Brett West, Shye Brogdon, and Chris Elrod. She is survived by five children: Randy Stockton (Joyce) of Marion, Arkansas; Kim Parrish (Brad) of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Ron Stockton of Trumann, Arkansas; Pam Morelock (Rick) of Trumann, Arkansas; and Nickey Stockton of Trumann, Arkansas; four grandchildren: Blair Parrish McClellan (Conner) of Cabot, Arkansas; Baylor Parrish of Jonesboro, Arkansas; Asher Parrish of Jonesboro, Arkansas; and Kelly Elrod of Marion, Arkansas; three great-grandchildren: J.P. McClellan, Raleigh McClellan, and Cohen McClellan.
