Laura W. Davis

Laura Willene Davis, 85, of Jonesboro, passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024. 

Laura was born on December 31, 1938, to Lee and Woodsie Bailey in Walcott. After Laura graduated from high school, she went on to business school in Jonesboro. After graduating business school, she started her first job utilizing her skills. Later in life, she worked for two years for Dr. Joe Ledbetter as his secretary. She was a dedicated member of the Valley View Church of Christ. 

In 1960, Laura met John Ray Davis at Main & Oak Church of Christ. Laura enjoyed gardening as she was a master gardener. She also loved to read, paint, draw, and create beautiful floral arrangements. 

Laura is survived by three children and their spouses, Kevin and Lisa Davis of Bono, Robyn and Archie Vest of Collierville, TN, and Tiffany and Chris Riggs of Cash; five wonderful grandchildren and their spouses, Bailey and Trey Harguess, Erin Davis, Jonathan and Taylor Vest, Alex Riggs, and Jeydon and Gracie Riggs. Laura was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, Leo Harguess and Rosie Vest.  

Laura was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis; a brother, Frank Lee Bailey; a half-sister, Laverne Williams and half-brother, Homer Ludwig. 

A celebration of her life will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024, at Gregg-Langford Bookout Funeral Home chapel with Richard Akins officiating. 

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. Interment will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Trey Harguess, Isiah Nortier, Alex Riggs, Chris Riggs, Jonathan Vest, and Archie Vest.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Children’s Homes, Inc in Paragould.
