June Boyer

Marla "June" Boyer, 80, of Jonesboro, Arkansas, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at the Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. June was a beloved member of her community known for her warmth, kindness, and vibrant spirit. She was born to the late Buddy and Catherine Whitlock on July 24, 1943, in Kennett.  She cherished spending time with her faithful dog, Buster, who was always by her side.

June had a passion for puzzles, finding joy and satisfaction in solving them. She was an avid reader, often lost in the pages of her favorite books. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden where she spent countless hours nurturing her plants. She also loved the tranquility of fishing and the joy of dancing, activities that brought her much happiness.

A dedicated member of Family Fellowship Baptist Church, June was a woman of strong faith. She found comfort and community within her church family, contributing her time and energy to various church activities.

In addition to her parents, June is preceded in death by her husband, Jim Boyer; sister, Sharon Branch; and great grandchild; Caden Boling.

June is survived by her daughter, Kalene Warner (Jim) of Horseshoe Bend and their children, Keith Knight (Tracy), Justin Knight (Casey) and Kim Havner (Tommy); sons, Vic Brooks (Nancy) of Jonesboro and their children, Jared Brooks (Lindsey) and Bray Brooks (Jordan), Chad Brooks (Jamie) of Jonesboro and their children, Erin Gutherie (Nathaniel) and Deklin Moody (Shauna), Mark Pruitt (Ronnie) of Jonesboro and their children, Holly and Heather, and Jim Pruitt (Connie) of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and their children, Kelly and Jaron; brothers, Gary Whitlock (Sheila) of Kennett and Glen Whitlock (Patsy) of Kennett; sister, Barbara McMasters (Joel) of Jonesboro. June also leaves behind 22 great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends to mourn her loss.

The visitation will be held Sunday at Emerson Funeral Home from 1-2 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 9, 2024, at Emerson Funeral Home with Ferrel Duffel officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park with the pallbearers being Keith Knight, Justin Knight, Bray Brooks, Jared Brooks, and Deklin Moody.
