Janet Humble

Janet Humble, 87, of Bay passed from this life Wednesday December 6, 2023, at Ridgecrest Nursing Center in Jonesboro. She was born June 29, 1936 in New Albany, Mississippi, to the late Robert and Ethel Herod.

Janet has lived in Bay most of her life and was a devoted member of the First Baptist Church in Bay. She enjoyed gardening, going to church as well as basketball games and softball games. But her greatest joy was spending time with her grandkids.

In addition to her parents, Janet is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Humble; brothers, Billy Herod, Gene Herod and Roger Herod; sisters, Mable Huff and Betty Fricks as well as a granddaughter, Shada Darby.

Survivors include her sons, Roy (Ladonna) Frazier of Jonesboro and Timmy (Denise) Frazier of Southern Pines, North Carolina; daughters, Linda (Chuck) Dedman of Huntsville, Alabama, Barbara (Rickey) Reeves of Batesville, Melisha (Walt) Berridge of Manchester, Tennessee, Sheryl (Michael) Irvin of Jonesboro, Sondra Darby of Bay and Michelle Morton of Bay; brother, Bobby Herod of Mountain View as well a multitude grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Saturday December 9, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. at Emerson Funeral Home.

The funeral service will immediately follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Danny Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Darius Frazier, Chase Lowery, Brandon Berridge, Nathan Berridge, Gunner Darby, Tyler Darby and Scott Dedman.
