Dorothy Lee Humphries, a beloved member of the community, passed away on June 28, 2024, in Jonesboro. Dorothy was born on August 31, 1929, in Greenway, AR, to the late Horace and Florence Stokes. She was the previous owner of Dixie Cleaners in Paragould and Randol Cleaners in Marked Tree, where she established herself as a diligent and dedicated businesswoman.

Dorothy found joy in various hobbies, including painting, crocheting, and quilting, showcasing her creativity and talent. Additionally, she excelled in sewing and personally crafted her daughter Belinda's wedding dress, leaving a legacy of love and craftsmanship. Her green thumb was evident in her beautiful garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her flowers and finding solace in nature.

On February 19, 1983, Dorothy united in marriage with the love of her life, Buford Humphries, sharing many cherished years together. Their love and commitment were a testament to the enduring bond they shared.

Dorothy will be dearly missed by her surviving relatives, including her husband Buford Humphries, daughters Belinda Morris of Pocahontas and Patricia (Jeffrey) Bozada of St. Louis, and grandchildren Valerie Simpson (Jake Rust), Mike (Carol) Morris, and Rickey Jr. (Day Nicole) Humphries, 5 great-grandchildren, and a great-great grandchild. Their memories and the love they shared will forever hold a special place in their hearts.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Horace Stokes; her sister Fern Robertson; her brothers, Carlton Stokes and Gene Stokes; her infant son Gary Randol, and her son Rickey Humphries; and her grandson Mark Simpson.

Funeral services to honor Dorothy's life will be held at Heath Funeral Home on Monday, July 1. There will be a public visitation at 10:00 am. The funeral service will commence at 11:00 am with Rev. Mike Book and Bill Eddington presiding. Burial will be at Jonesboro Memorial Park immediately following the service. These ceremonies will serve as a heartfelt tribute to Dorothy's life and the impact she had on all who knew her.

In her final resting place, Dorothy will be remembered for her kind spirit, unwavering dedication, and the love she shared with her family and friends. May her memory forever shine brightly in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her.
