He spent 14 years on the Central School board, was on the board of the Crowley Ridge Water Association, and also served on the board of the Water Shed District Commission. He liked to hunt and spent many hours fishing with Junior Carter. He also enjoyed playing cards and playing baseball and softball, which he continued to do until he was 75 years old.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister Juanita Saunders, one brother Larry Jones, one great granddaughter Ellington Paige DeBoard.
