Carl J. Stimach, 85, of Jonesboro, died Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at St. Bernard’s Medical Center. He was born on June 3, 1938, in Kansas City, Kansas, to John and Emma Stimach. He moved to Jonesboro in 1964 and farmed in the Valley View Community for several years. Carl was a member of Herman Baptist Church. Over the years, he served his church in the food pantry and became affectionally known as "The Gravy Man." He enjoyed his community service by serving in the Jonesboro Police Reserve and as a SkyWarn Tornado spotter. His hobbies included bowling, riding motorcycles, and spending time with his family. He had a wonderful voice and loved to sing praises to his Lord and Savior. His grandchildren referred to him as Grandpa Carl or Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, June Stimach, of the home; son, Randy Stimach and wife Monica; daughter, Cindi Talbot and husband, Wade; and Mandi Clevenger all of Jonesboro; grandchildren, Madison Ring, Brock Stimach, Evan Talbot, Taylor Talbot, Brody Stimach, and Dawson Clevenger; great grandchildren, Chandler Ring, Norah Grace Stimach, Henry Stimach, Elli Kate Stimach and Levi Stimach.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Emerson Memorial Chapel with Harold Russell officiating and Emerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery with Brock Stimach, Brody Stimach, Evan Talbot, Jimmy Ward, Dawson Clevenger, Derrick Stroh and Chandler Ring serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time.
