Beverly Lynn Housdan, beloved wife, mother, Meme, and friend, passed away on April 26, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the age of 65. She was born on February 12, 1959, in Berwyn, IL, to Ed and Lynn Cross.
Beverly spent the majority of her life living in Trumann with her husband and raising her girls. She worked at Parker Hannifan and Nestle where she built lifelong friendships until her retirement. She was a devout member of the Baptist faith and a faithful member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. In her leisure time, Beverly found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She enjoyed working puzzles, tending to her yard, working on various projects around the house (and her girls' homes), cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals, and playing cards with her family. However, her greatest joy came from being "Meme." She loved watching her grandchildren flourish and supporting them in all their endeavors - baseball, softball, wrestling, plays, programs, award ceremonies, Saturday nights, etc.
Beverly is preceded in death by her father, Ed Cross; her grandson, Emerson Hendrix; her nephews, Jason Cross, David Mize and Daniel Mize; her niece, Jessica Heck, and sisters-in-law, Linda Wisdom and Barbara Corder.
She leaves behind a profound legacy of love and compassion, embodied by her husband of the home, Eldon Housdan, and her three daughters Krista Hendrix (John) of Collierville, TN; Kerri Box (David) and Kelli Hurst (Alex) both of Trumann. She is also survived by her devoted mother, Lynn Cross; her brother, Mike Cross (Brenda) of Gainesville; and her sisters, Debbie Huckabay (Terry) of Marmaduke, and Ronda Griffin of Paragould. Beverly's memory will forever be cherished by her seven grandchildren: Asher, Carter, Jase, Avery, Elliot, Emmett, and Caroline as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 30th, at Maple Grove Baptist Church starting at 12PM and ending at 1PM. The funeral service will immediately follow visitation at 1PM with Bro. Jim Duffel officiating the service. Interment will follow the funeral service at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery. Those honored to serve as pallbearers will be Asher Box, Carter Cole, Jackson Lewallen, Jarod Allison, Chase Griffin, and Caleb Hambrick.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests for donations to be made to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital.
