Barbara A. Jones

Barbara Ann Secrease Jones of Batesville departed this life Thursday, September 19, 2024, at the Springs of Batesville at the age of 78 years, 5 months and 11 days. She was born Monday, April 8, 1946, in Trumann and had lived most of her lifetime in Trumann before moving to Batesville 15 years ago. She was a housewife and of the Baptist faith. 

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by one son, Scott Straver; two brothers, Frank and Thomas Secrease; one nephew, Carl Long; and was the daughter of the late William Harvey "Bill" Secrease and Edna Marie Haslett Secrease. 

She is survived by husband of 15 years, Frank Jones, of the home; two daughters, Shellie (Rodney) Langley of Thayer, MO., and Renee (Jamie) Prince of Harrisburg; two stepsons, Tony Jones and Ronnie Jones, both of Batesville; two sisters, Hazel Willey of Batesville and Kathy Lunn of Salem; one brother, Billy Beard, of Strawberry; one niece, Gina (Bob) Tucker; and one nephew, Jeff Long. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren: Dillon (Kelsey) Smith, Jerod (Craig) Monette, Ciara (Jeff) Gray, Seana Smith, Grayce Moore, Jaxon Moore, Jarret (Haley) Prince, Zyman Langley, and Zerek Langley as well as 7 great-grandchildren.  

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 25, 2024, from 12:30 to 1:30 at Thompson Funeral Home in Trumann. A celebration of life will follow at 1:30 in the chapel with Rev. Bobby Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Jonesboro Memorial Park Cemetery in Jonesboro, AR. 

Pallbearers will be Dillon Smith, Jerod Monette, Ian Straver, Jeff Gray, Michael Secrease and Dan Neal.
